CHIEF INSTRUCTOR - SENSEI JOE HALLETT
Joe started his Martial Arts career at the tender age of 7 years old, taking up Kickboxing
classes at a local club. During his time at this club he competed in small national
tournaments winning his first trophy. After this he got the competing bug and wanted
to take his training to the next level. Joe decided to join the prestigious London
Predators coached by Master Curtis Page (Father of MMA Superstar Michael Page). With
great support from his parents he travelled to training on a weekly basis in Epsom,
Surrey and at weekends entered competitions nationwide. At the London Predators Joe
gained his 1ST Degree Black Belt and had the opportunity to represent his country
at the US Open held in Florida, WKA World Championships Italy and the WPKA World
Championships in Corfu, where he gained his first World Title which proved not to
be his last.
During his competition career one discipline caught Joe’s eye, Musical forms, a discipline
combining Martial Art techniques, gymnastics moves and weapons into a performance
routine choreographed to music. Joe started teaching himself this discipline starting
from the bottom knowing nothing about this art form, to become one of the top forms
competitors in the country. In 2004 Joe started training with triple World champion
Ashley Beck who has now become a successful stunt man. Under Ashley’s guidance Joe
started to progress his acrobatic skills, learning new Tricks and Flips which he
incorporated in his routines. As a member of Ashley’s Team Evolution Forms Squad
Joe won 6 x WAKO British titles, took home the WAKO Italian World Cup Globe Trophy
in 2005 and become WAKO World Champion in 2006 in Croatia.
In 2007 Joe decided it was time to go it alone and pass on the incredible skills
he has learnt to the next generation of Martial Artists. He opened Infinity Martial
Arts Yeovil alongside his sister Ruth. In just one year the club boasted a hundred
students and Joe was back on the competition circuit, this time to coach his own
students.
Joe saw a space in the Media industry for a performance team offering the combined
talents of Martial Arts, Freerunning/Parkour and Breakdancing, he decided to form
Team Resurrection. Since its creation the team have performed live on TV in front
of thousands at such events Xfactor Live final at Wembley Arena, Big Brothers Bit
On The Side, Animekon Barbados, Reading Festival, Boardmasters Festival, Disneyland
Paris, Budo Gala and Cage Rage just to name a few. They have also featured in music
videos alongside artists The Wanted, Celebrity Alex Reid, D-Tox, Young Twist and
viral video “Where Me Keys, Where Me Phone”. The Team were asked to be contestants
on reality shows Britain’s Got Talent and Sky 1’s Got To Dance for which they auditioned
and received great comments from the judges. They have worked with such brands as
Rockstar, Relentless Energy Drink, MOJO Future Technologies and Adidas Martial Arts.
2010 Joe was asked to take up the post of Kata/Forms director for the International
Sports Kickboxing Association, which he accepted. Since then he has trained the Team
England squad for a number of international tournaments creating numerous World Champions.
Then came 2012. Joe was asked to come out of retirement and compete one more time
at the World renowned Bercy Festival Of Martial Arts as a competitor in the “Bruce
Lee Challenge” in front of 20,000 people live on Paris TV. He accepted the challenge
and trained for 6 months which paid off when he won the the title.
Alongside running Somerset’s No.1 Freestyle Martial Arts club Joe has built up the
South West Premier Sports Martial Arts competition “Infinity South West & Beyond”
which has over 800 + people in attendance annually. He then moved into promoting
Full Contact fight night events where he held 4 highly successful sold out events
which were broadcast on Sky TV, called Infinity Full On.
Joe has been able to use his Martial Arts and Gymnastic ability to break into the
Film Industry working on a number of feature films including Hollywood blockbusters
Fury starring Brad Pitt, Green Street 3 starring Scott Adkins, Street Fighter Assassin’s
Fist, Instant Death starring original Incredible Hulk Lou Ferrigno and Of Gods &
Warriors starring Terrence Stamp to name just a few. Not only has Joe been in front
of the camera he has also taken the role as producer behind the camera in his first
feature Horror Comedy film Paintball Massacre starring comedian actress Katy Brand
and Lee Latchford-Evans of pop band Steps.
Despite Joe’s busy career he continues to use his experience and skills to teach
students at Infinity Martial Arts on a weekly basis. He endeavours to help guide
every student personally and offers his support when it is needed.
